A bimorph actuator is composed of two thin panels of ceramic elements
bonded together with a flexible metallic panel as it's central electrode. By wiring these
two elements in such a way as to make one elongate and the other contract by applying
voltage, inflection deviation occurs conforming to the waveform of the applied voltage.
This allows it to be used as an actuator. The bimorphs supplied by Fuji & Co employ stringently selected materials of
specially high voltage constant so large deviation can be obtained with low voltage.
Currently bimorph actuators are built to customers specific requirements. Additional
technical information on bimorph actuators is available from Fuji
& Co by means of the info request form available from the top of this
page.
